With the Shanghai World Expo 2010 fast approaching, many countries are getting in on the action by designing structures for the space. The fantastic exterior structure is composed of hundreds of polycarbonate transparent recycled plastic tubes formed into a grid-like matrix.
The heat collecting tubes on the roof is for collect the energy through a 1,600 sq meter solar thermal energy system. The plans include many green features, including a structure made from recycled CD cases. Certainly a good effort by the Chinese government to promote the “Green Revolution”!
