The 2009 World Dwarf Games held its 5th edition of the games in Belfast, Northern Ireland, From July 24 until August 2nd. The World Dwarf Games is similar to the Paralympics which gives these athletes who suffered from dwarfism a chance to prove themselves on the tracks. Don’t look down on them just because they are short, these little people knows what they are doing and is capable of  doing professional sports.  The Games attract a number of athletes from up to 20 countries and the competitors range in age from 2-70 years old. They all come to win and to qualify themselves for the 2012 Paralympics.

Swimming was also a category in the World Dwarf Games

Minister of Northern Ireland “The Dwarf World Games are a major international event in the Paralympic calendar and I very much welcome the Games to Belfast. This is the first time Northern Ireland has had the privilege of hosting the Games and it is encouraging to see so many nations represented.”

Besides swimming and track events there are also other events such as Tennis  Football Basketball Hockey Badminton Table Tennis etc…
